1 million signatures...

... of EU citizens can force the EU commission to listen to them on a specific issue and to take action accordingly.

Thus, if you are concerned about GMOs, and especially about the growing of GM crops, sign the petition here, and ask others to do the same.

The situation is: When the EU has approved a GM crop to be grown in the EU, like it did recently for the first time since 12 years, for the Amflora potato, no member state can ban this crop to be grown on its territory, because one of the core principles of the EU is free movement of goods. Other such approved crops can now follow. Hence, if you don't want GM crops growing in your country, only an EU wide ban can prevent it!
