A Stitch a Day (15th to 18th September)

A year has passed since I started A Stitch a Day. There are a few gaps still to fill in, but all in all I’ve kept my promise.

There is still a lot to explore, but I can go about it in a more relaxed way now.

What I’m looking forward to now is receiving the yarn from the spinning mill they produced from my own sheep’s fleeces. More about that when the yarn will finally have arrived.

These are the patterns for the last four days:

And this is the result if one knits the pairs of rows of the two-colour version only once, with colours inverted:

A Stitch a Day (12th to 14th September)

The R, which I introduced in my previous post, is used in the chart for these patterns again.
They make actually quite easy knitting, because stitches change only in every fourth row, and in the next three rows are knitted as they appear.

A Stitch a Day (8th to 11th September)

In the chart for these pattern below you see the usual numbers of rows given for the pattern at the bottom. If you look at the pattern second from top you might recognise that it is a vertical enlargement of the pattern at the bottom. It indeed appears when each of the two pairs of rows from the bottom fabric are knitted twice in the same colour.

As there will come up some patterns where pairs of rows are just repeated. I’ve introduced the R, which means: repeat this pair of rows once, using the same colour. This makes smaller charts that are easier to follow. Just understand that the R stands for 4 rows, twice the pair of rows for which stitches are given in the chart.

A Stitch a Day (1st to 7th September)

Here are seven versions of a new fabric. It is actually easy to knit stitch-wise: The flat version has only two different pairs of rows. When knitting in the round only two different rows have to to be repeated.
