A Stitch a Day (30th September)

This is another pattern possible with yesterday's structure.

A Stitch a Day (29th September)

I like the waves with the little dots on one side of this pattern. The other side is very different. The fabric is not thick, and as all others up to now, lies flat. I will not repeat this every time, I'd rather mention the exeption, that is when a fabric would curl.

A Stitch a Day (28th September)

I was rather astonished when I knitted this one, about the clear shapes that emerged, and also about the difference in texture of the two sides. One side is pretty flat, whilst the other has a rather deep relief. I hope this is visible for viewers in the pictures.

A Stitch a Day (27th September)

Here's the next one in this series, still the same structure, but a different colour sequence. The pattern has diagonal character now again. (I see now there is a little mistake in this swatch. I hope you don't mind.)

A Stitch a Day (26th September)

Here is another pattern in this series, that looks again same on both sides. This time it is a 6rows/6 rows sequence of two colours alternating.

A Stitch a Day (25th September)

This pattern is again resulting from the structure of the previous two, by using a different colour sequence, and it also looks alike on both sides. This time the pattern has a vertical direction, the diagonals have vanished.

A Stitch a Day (24th September)

This fancy 3-colour pattern has in fact the same structure as yesterday's. It means, as explained in the introductions, you knit the same stitches as for yesterday's pattern, but in a different colour sequence for the rows. It also shows a diagonal slant, albeit steeper than that in yesterday's pattern.

The fabric looks again the same on both sides.

A Stitch a Day (23rd September)

Here is a pattern with clear diagonals. It looks the same on both sides of the fabric, only the diagonals have opposite directions. If you leave out one row after some repeats, you should get both directions on one side.

A Stitch a Day (22nd September)

This is again a pattern that has teeth. It makes a rather solid, but not thick, fabric. I show it in two colourways. It would be a good example to test out the effects of the following: Keep the sequence of rows for three colours, but exchange the colours. You could get three swatches with rather different effects.

A Stitch a Day (21st September)

Today's pattern uses three colours in the sequence given in the chart below. Tip: Try it also in colour sequences 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 and 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8.

A Stitch a Day (20th September)

Here is another pattern with a vertical direction, this time on both sides. On one side little triangles or "teeth" seem to be arranged vertically. It is easy to knit, the chart consists only of 4 stitches and 4 rows.

A Stitch a Day (19th September))

Today's pattern has two quite different sides. One side has a clear vertical orientation, that would be nice when used instead of ribbing. The other side has a more woven experience, where the colours blend together. I personally would love this in a scarf, where the two different sides would be well visible. The fabric is again perfectly flat.
