Met tadpole again

I met one of the tadpoles again today. It hopped out of the vegetation surrounding the pond, disturbed by me when I was approaching the pond; hopped back into it and then climbed a leaf of the water lily – as a tiny little froglet 3 cm in size, if at all!

It was a joyous moment meeting the little creature and seeing it has progressed to this stage. There is similar joy when I go out the door at dusk and see bats flying around the house, or later at night hear the rusty-hinge squeaks of juvenile long-eared owls. (Yes, I can hear them.)

It’s great to know that they all are inhabiting this place, too – even if not often seen.
